We're talking survivor. No, not the reality show! The real deal.

This month, National Geographic examines the future food supply in a project called Food Ark. The article talks about the seeds the future depends on. The accompanying photo gallery includes Chinese farmers tossing millet in the air (the wind helps separate the grain from the husks), Ethiopian farmers using sickles to harvest oats, tasters at an heirloom tomato seed-conservation group event in Iowa, and a beekeeper spraying smoke into a patch of sunflowers (so he can calm the bees).
