We told you about the latest trend in social media food meetups -- the Food Swap -- last month. Marie Castro, a bookkeeper in Wilton Manors, organized the first one after reading about others in big cities.

Her first one a success, she branched out, and Palm Beach County will hold its first food swap Tuesday at the Lincoln Culinary Institute (6 to 8 p.m.) in West Palm Beach.

"I'm really excited. It's really taken off -- we have 15 [people] confirmed so far, and they're bringing lots of good foods!" she said. Breads, salsas, pickles, and more are expected from the group, who bring multiples of foods to trade with others. No buying or selling is allowed -- it's all swapping.

Castro also secured a room at the Fairchild Tropical Gardens for Miami's first swap, to be held July 25.
