If you're looking for something to do before launching into a food coma after Thursday's big feast, take your sweetheart to see a couple of foodcentric films at the quaint and historic Cinema Paradiso.

Soul Kitchen screens Wednesday at 6 p.m. German-Turkish director Faith Akin won the Special Jury Prize and the Young Cinema for Best Film at the Venice Film Festival for the picture. The plot tells the story of Zinos, a young chef with mediocre culinary skills who owns a greasy-spoon diner that draws a wild mix of rock 'n' roll enthusiasts as a clientele. The plot thickens when he hires his snooty brother Shayn.

After that, stay for the 8 p.m. showing of

A Woman, a Gun, and a Noodle Shop. The Chinese film is about a

noodle-shop owner who plans to murder his wife -- but the scheme goes

awry. The film, says one internet reviewer, is "a satire of the Coen

Brothers' satire of film noir, Blood Simple."

Tickets cost $9 per person ($5 for FLIFF members). Visit fliff.com, or call 954-525-3456.

Cinema Paradiso is located at 503 SE Sixth St., Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-525-3456.
