The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County will host their third-annual Future Tastes Great Iron Chef Competition this Saturday, November 19, at 6:30 p.m.
The
competition, held at Hugh's Culinary in Oakland Park, will benefit the
BGCBG Culinary Arts program, which introduces teen members to possible
careers in the culinary arts.
Participating chefs in the competition include D'Angelo of Café D'Angelo's, Shaun Albers of Chart House, Hugh McCauley of Hugh's Culinary, Marco from Cafe Vicco, McCarthy of Armadillo Bites, and Suthee and Suppachai of the Mai-Kai Restaurant. Chef Teresa Ruiz of the Boys & Girls Club's Culinary Arts Program will also participate, with assistance from her students.
Chefs will be formed into teams, with each team challenged to prepare a dish using the same secret ingredients. The teams will then be judged for their talents and creativity.
Guests will enjoy an exclusive dinner prepared by the chefs, winetastings, cocktails, live entertainment, and a silent auction.
Tickets cost $100 per person. $250 VIP tickets allow guests to participate in the competition as a chef's assistant. Purchase tickets here, or call Marika Guyton, events coordinator, at 954-537-1010, ext. 226. Hugh's Culinary is located at 4351 NE 12th Terrace in Oakland Park.
