Do you really need 101 reasons to attend the 101st South Florida Fair? No. You don't.

Of course, we could all use a few good excuses as to why we're about to spend a whole lotta dough on tickets, rides and fair food. We all love the fair, but no one likes paying for it. So if your pockets are still feeling the hurt from the holidays, here's a great way to score some free tickets and feel good about helping humanity all in one shot.

This year, the South Florida Fair will be making a notable philanthropic turn by participating in the Dream Big Food Drive along with other fairs taking place across the United States and Canada. The food drive, developed by the International Association of Fairs and Expositions, aims to promote numerous national food drives by urging fair-goers to donate cans of food during the course of the event.

To get the ball rolling, those looking to cash-in on free fair tickets to the 101st South Florida Fair should attend the food donation event this Sunday, January 6 at Al Packer Ford West

from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (off Southern Blvd. just west of the fairgrounds) in Royal Palm Beach. Simply bring two cans of food -- or two non-perishable dry goods products -- and you'll be given a free ticket to the fair valid for a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday admission.

If you can't make the kick-off event, those interested in participating in the food drive can still bring their donations to the fair. You won't get a free ticket, but you will be eligible to win several daily prize drawings, including a $500 cash prize courtesy of the Bank of Belle Glade which will be issued the final day of the fair.

Have more than one mouth to feed? Consider one of the best deals around: the Mega Saver package, which offers four "any day" admission passes, two ride wrist bands vouchers good for any weekday (can be upgraded to weekend passes for an extra $10), and four $5 food tickets for a total of $89.

Presale and regular sale tickets are available at Publix, BB&T, Bud's Chicken & Seafood and TD Bank locations in Palm Beach County, at the box office on the South Florida Fairgrounds and online
