The Place: Boston's on the Beach, 40 S. Ocean Blvd., Delray Beach. 561-278-3364.
The Hours: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Deal: Half off well drinks, domestic beers are $2.50, and house wines are $3.50.
The Digs: Overlooking A1A and the beach, the three floors of this restaurant and bar bring different levels of the Boston experience to Delray. The casual first floor is lined with
a cornucopia of New England area signage and sports mementos and
contains the bar, some restaurant seating, a stage, and outdoor patio.
The second or mid-level has more room for dining and walls to display
Boston pride. The top floor or "UpperDeck" has a white tablecloth dining
experience for the Brahmin in you.
The only area that doesn't bring to
mind Boston, other than the Tiki wearing the Red Sox hat, is the "Back
Bay Tiki Bar" by the pool out back, which also has a stage. (They have a motel on the property if you want to crash.) Boston's, in addition to
being a good place watch the game, has live music most nights of the
week featuring area, and occasionally touring, musicians playing reggae, blues, rock, country and more.
The Verdict: Whether you want to look at the ocean, watch the
game, listen to some music, or just sit back and relax there's no better
place to be than this little piece of Boston on the beach.
