Better check yourself before you wreck yourself, eateries. Inspectors seem to be cracking down more and more on what they deem unlicensed activity, which could be as simple as not properly displaying licenses to serving food without a license at all. Two local digs were shut down last week for that reason; two others brought vermin into the mix.

Here are the dirty details.

Bruegger's Bagels
2146 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton
This Boca Raton branch of the national chain was temporarily closed for license-related issues on October 27. It's back open now and operating as normal.

Miramar Café
11602 City Hall Promenade, Miramar
This café was closed on October 28 for operating without a license. It's currently in the application stages and should be open for business soon.

Mary L Foods
5436 N. University Drive, Lauderhill
This kosher catering and takeout restaurant was hit pretty hard by inspectors on October 29 for a list of critical violations including roach activity. Our faithful public servants found dead and live roaches in the walk-in coolers, plus some little buggers hanging out in the pots and pans. Now that can't be kosher.

Filito Cafeteria
2200 NW 12th Ave., Miami
This Miami restaurant was found harboring live roaches and rodents, as evidenced by plenty of fresh rodent droppings scattered around the kitchen.
