Billy's Tavern is a neighborhood sports bar and tavern on State Road 84 and Pine Island Road in Davie...that happens to be a hangout for current and former Miami Dolphins! Not only is Billy's a great sports bar, it has fantastic food that people swear by. Peole come from miles around to try Billy's Burgers and famous wings. We spoke with server Shayna Parker right at the start of the festivities yesterday.

Clean Plate Charlie: How long have you been at Billy's?

Shayna Parker: I've been at Billy's almost 7 years. The only person here longer than me is the owner.  This is a great place to work. It's a neighborhood restaurant.  I've gotten to know so many of the customers.  I've seen kids grow up from babies.

What's your favorite item on the menu?

The Billy Burger. It's a burger with two pieces of cheese, ham and bacon. It's delicious.

What's the most popular item you serve?

Chicken wings and Bud Light Draft.

What do you drink?

I really love a Blue Moon wheat beer on draft, served with a slice of orange.

Are you a big sports fan?

Absolutely! I was born and raised here so I love the Dolphins, but my mom is from Pennsylvania so I also cheer for the Steelers.  We get some Dolphins in post season and that's really exciting. Our weeknight regulars are Ronnie Brown and Channing Crowder. In fact we named a wing sauce after Channing.

What't the craziest you've ever seen the bar?

Every time we have a Steeler's game we get crazy - there's not a seat in the house. Everyone gets along and there's cheering and yelling!  Great energy.
