The local, sustainable, whole food mission is a growing trend. If it isn't fresh, organic or GMO-free, most of us aren't buying it. And the same holds true for a few big food chain operations like Chipotle -- which vowed earlier this year to serve "food with integrity" as it transitions to GMO-free foods. Next up: Jamba Juice.

Beginning this month, Jamba Juice is launching a new line of fresh juices that focus on the "buy local" trend, and lucky for us South Florida is one of the few markets that will be offering the innovative new menu of drinks outside of Jamba's home state of California.

This month the company is expanding its fresh-squeezed juice menu to 500 stores with a focus on local, fresh ingredients. To embrace the change, Jamba has developed a new supply and distribution model they say will "ensure delivery of the freshest local whole foods available to each store." That means Jamba guarantees the fruits and vegetables that are in your drink are being provided by local farms.

The fresh-squeezed juice roll-out is supported by Jamba's new "Blend in the Good" brand campaign, which launched in May. In preparing for the national launch of the expanded fresh juice platform, Jamba even implemented an advanced training course known as the Jamba "Master of Blending Arts" -- or Jamba MBA -- course which required team members learn about the nutritional value and health benefits of ingredients, juices, blends, and daily requirements.

The new juices focus on high-nutrient and on-trend whole foods including kale, beets, cucumbers, apples and oranges -- even superfoods like chia seeds -- blended into a variety of juices. New flavors include the Citrus Kick, a combination of orange, apple, pineapple and ginger. Looking for more green in your cup? Try the Tropical Greens, a blend of spirulina, apple, pineapple and chia seeds. Or get spicy with the Carrot Cayenne which features carrot, apple, ginger and cayenne pepper.

These drinks are currently available at all South Florida Jamba Juice locations including Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Boca Raton, Coral Springs, Pembroke Pines, Wellington, Royal Palm Beach and Hollywood.
