Josef and Beth Shibanetz have opened their new location for Josef's, the former Plantation restaurant. Josef's Table at 5030 Champion Blvd. in Boca Raton opened in mid-December for dinner and will debut for lunch in early February.

The new space seats 180, more than doubling the capacity. The bar area seats 28. The new digs also feature patio seating. "The old space was homey, worn in a good way," said Josef. "This place is brand-spanking-new. Like a new car, it even smells new."

Shibanetz said the offerings have evolved to align more closely with the Plantation menu, which means Austro-Italian, with an array of specials: two to three first courses, three fish entrées, and a meat dish. "It is always a work in progress," Josef told Clean Plate Charlie. "We are listening to what customers are telling us. They are very outspoken." The price of entrées ranges from $26 to $42.

Josef's had earned the chef-owners accolades in the Miami Herald as a Broward top 20 restaurant and a Best Of in this paper in 2008 during the toughest of economic times.
