Anyone who is anybody knows: the happening section of Las Olas moved its way west. The newer, cooler restaurants now sit closer to the downtown office district. YOLO paved the way and other trendy concepts have followed suit: Grille 401, the Royal Pig, Mancini Modern Italian.
Now the Las Olas Farmer's Market is following the pack, by trekking its vendors and wares down the Boulevard to YOLO plaza. This Sunday will be the Grand Opening of the market's expansion and new location. Details after the jump.

For quite some time the old location of the market--next to the Las Olas Chemist--had been on the decline. As with the restaurants, the foot traffic moved west: leaving the market a slightly desolate. Now being sponsored by the Downtown Fort Lauderdale Civic Association, the market is looking to rejuvenate and expand. Currently the market's organizers are looking at bringing in someone with eggs, more large produce vendors, and individuals selling local seafood.
So far the market has vendors selling items from local honey to cut flowers, plants, and trees to spices and nut butters. Two produce stands--including Michael Madfis of Fort Lauderdale Vegetables, whose farm is just seven blocks from the market's new site--are already onboard. Prepared foods such as arepas, baked goods--including kosher and gluten-free--smoked fish, and ethnic cuisines are signed up.
This Sunday is the Grand Opening of the new market. To celebrate the move there will be several presentations by the civic association including a speech by the Mayor and City Council members.
