Few things are as pleasurable as the first cup of coffee in the morning.

Yeah, a beer or glass of wine is enjoyable at the end of the day.

And sure, Friday night happy hour is one of the most relaxing activities of the whole week.

But, that first sip of coffee perks you up and sets the tone for the rest of each and every day -- it's a routine you just can't beat.

Starting today, Mickey D's is giving it away for free.

Starting today (Monday, March 31) and running through April 13, participating McDonald's locations across South Florida are giving away small McCafe Premium Roast Coffee during breakfast hours -- we were assured most locations are getting in on the deal.

To jump-start the first-ever nationwide campaign, the company is hosting "Make Friends with McCafé" at busy stores and transportation hubs in cities across the country. In addition to the free brew, the events will feature surprises for commuters, such as musical performances, comedy, and more.

In mid-April, McCafe is going to be surprising a Twitter follower every day for the rest of the year with coffee and prizes. To keep up with the conversation, use the hash tag #McCafe or follow @McCafe and McD_palmbeach.

McCafé was launched in the U.S. in 2009; it includes a signature line of blended coffee, iced coffees, espresso-based beverages, blended-ice beverages, and seasonal drinks.

Now, if only they would give away some McRibs.
