There's been a ton of interest in Oktoberfest this year -- maybe it's because beer has become a bigger deal in South Florida than ever.

The Office (201 E. Atlantic Ave.) is getting in on the act now. The Delray Beach gastropub's Oktoberfest plans sound pretty darned good too. The restaurant is featuring a whole month of beer dinners and events starting tomorrow.

On Tuesday, October 5, the Office will be showcasing Ayinger, a serious Bavarian beer.

Six selections from the brewery will be paired with

German-inspired cuisine created by chefs Larry LaValley and Francis

Connor Deskin. A similarly themed dinner on October 21 will feature brews from Tucher, Lederer, and (my favorite) Spaten, paired along with a multicourse German feast. Both dinners start at 7 p.m. and cost $50 per person.

Looking for more of a rowdy good stein... I mean "time"? Check out the Office's two Bier Garten Mixers on October 14 and 26. The restaurant will get extra lively with beer samplings from German breweries Ayinger, Spaten, Lederer, Paulaner, and more, plus good ol' American brews by Magic Hat, Southern Tier, Dogfish Head, Shipyard, Sam Adams, and Lefthand. Holy crap, what a lineup. There will be plenty of pumpkin-flavored beers on hand plus a selection of appeteasers floating around. Those parties begin at 7 p.m. and cost $30 a head.
