A new year is a great opportunity to practice the "out with the old, in with the new" mantra. If you're like most people "the old" includes piles of obsolete junk hidden in dark corners of the house or stuffed into impossible-to-open drawers. In every secreted-away collection of crap exists at least one or five cell phones that haven't gotten a second of use since you unwrapped your first iPhone. What if you could ditch the old cell phones -- in an eco-friendly way, no less -- and get something free in return?

On Wednesday, January 9, Pollo Tropical is giving away a free beef wrap (made with sauteed beef with onions and peppers, spicy sauce, and a melted cheese blend) for every cell phone that is donated at one of its company-owned stores. The phones will be collected in support of Women in Distress, an organization dedicated to assisting victims of domestic violence.
The "A Handheld for a Handheld" one-day campaign aims to collect 2,000 cell phones. Phones that can't be refurbished will be recycled for parts. Profits will be donated to Women in Distress programs.
There are very few catches to the program: You can donate as many cell phones as you'd like and there's no limit on the number of wraps you can receive for said phones. The phone doesn't have to be in working order, so long as you provide the battery. On top of that, any model or make is welcome. Goodbye Zack Morris cell phone: Hello, lunch.
