Located in a sleepy strip mall at 6900 Cypress Road at the intersection of Northwest 69th Avenue and Cypress Road, this will make the third location for the uber popular craft beer spot. According to Siegel, the densely populated residential community offers the perfect opportunity to expand the Riverside Market concept further west.
"Lisa found the Plantation space about a year ago — it was on our radar before we even thought about opening [our second location] at Riverside Market South," says Siegel, who has partnered with the Plantation landlord's son for his third location.
The plan, says Siegel, is to complete construction and be open before the end of the year, with a grand opening sometime this fall.
The new 2,300-square-foot Plantation Riverside Market space has been approved to serve beer and food. The latest spot is a blank slate, Siegel adds, that when completed will more closely resemble the original Riverside Market with lounge seating for up to 70; a full kitchen offering the Riverside core menu of salads, sandwiches, tacos, and pizza; and coolers displaying more than 600 beers by the bottle, as well as a variety of gluten-free beers and ciders, organic milks, teas, kombucha, and specialty sodas for children and those who are looking for nonalcoholic options."The demographic [in Plantation] is great, but right now everything is riddled with chains. So we're really looking forward to showing some mom and pop activity."

Siegel says there will also be a new custom bar and draft system where more than 20 taps will serve a variety of local- and nationally-sourced beers on draft. The craft beer guru prides himself on having the area's best beer selection, including some of the most sought-after brews in addition to entry-level basics.
"I'm very confident in saying that we revolutionized the craft beer bar idea here in South Florida," says Siegel. "We have amazing relationships with craft breweries, and we're going to continue to bring the best to the table. The demographic [in Plantation] is great, but right now everything is riddled with chains. So we're really looking forward to showing some mom and pop activity."
In 2001, the husband-and-wife team purchased an old convenience store in their Sailboat Bend neighborhood. Seven years later they relocated and expanded across the street to a larger facility, opening the first Riverside Market in 2008. Since that time, the place has seen impressive organic growth and today is considered one of South Florida's most iconic craft beer bars.
In 2014, the Siegels rebooted their original convenience store into a homebrew and bottle shop, debuting Craft Beer Cartel to Sailboat Bend. A year later, in July 2015, Riverside Market opened its second location at 3218 SE Sixth Ave. in east Fort Lauderdale. Taking over the former Keg on Sixth space, the beer bar and restaurant was dubbed Riverside Market South, what would be the first in a string of Riverside Market establishments.
The new Plantation location will not only be the largest but also the most exciting project thus far.
"We're also really looking forward to having a place with a male and female bathroom," adds Siegel. "And the new construction. We're starting from scratch with this one, and it's exciting."
