It would've been easy to assume that the trophy for Riverwalk Trust's Burger Battle on June 4 would be a simple trophy-store special, with a baseball player replaced by a plastic hamburger. Yeah, no.

Instead, the Riverwalk Trust commissioned Tamarac artist George Gadson to create a burger sculpture. His finished work is a hand holding up a burger on its fingertips. It's a testament to the meaty glory that is the burger.

Riverwalk Trust's Jackie Chavez says the idea behind commissioning Gadson was the hope that the winning restaurant wouldn't want to hide the thing back in the kitchen and instead display it proudly in the front of the house.
