If we're not underwater come Saturday, get out to Ponce Circle Park in Coral Gables (2800 Ponce de Leon Blvd.) for the inaugural Samuel Adams Octoberfest in Miami.

The Octoberfest celebration starts at 2 p.m. and runs till midnight. It's the best excuse to drink in a public park since you were in high school.

No seriously, the event is family-oriented (leave it to Germany to bring the family together over beer). There will be a German stein-hoisting competition to test our your brats and a costume contest for best German costume -- finally a reason to wear lederhosen! Dueling pianos will perform throughout the day as well. And word on the street is there will be at least one bottle of Sam Adams Utopia -- a rare, 24 percent alcohol brew bottled in a mini beer cask -- will be on hand.

Can't make it Saturday? Friday night is Art in the Park starting at 7 p.m. and will feature live music and an art showcase until 11.

The event is sponsored by the Kiwanis of Little Havana.
