You know how to dine out in style, but do you ever wish your canine companion could join you in enjoying a good meal? Shooters Waterfront in Fort Lauderdale is making this easier with healthful, chef-prepared dishes designed specially for Fido.

The all-new canine menu launched September 9. Designed just for dogs, these savory, veterinarian-approved meals go beyond the average $15-plus plate of broiled chicken breast or plain burger patty.

Here, meals have been crafted by Dishes For Dogs, a wholesome pet nutrition company based in Wynwood that uses USDA certified ingredients and follows the Association of American Feed Control Officials standards. Each plate has been crafted for flavor and nutrition in association with Dr. Justin Shmalberg, a board-certified veterinary nutritionist from the University of Florida, who helped to formulate recipes using the latest in pet health science.

Selections for your four-legged friends include snack-size picks ranging from $6-$12, each filed under "bark bites" or "Scooby snacks."

Larger "puppy platter" main plates feature several nutrient-packed options like the Rest and Digest Chicken (USDA chicken leg and thigh served with basmati rice, pumpkin, carrot, and peas seasoned with oregano and moistened with extra virgin olive oil and flax oil); Basil Beef (USDA ground beef and beef liver paired with organic pearled barley, pigeon peas, tapioca pearls, and organic pear and papaya flavored with organic safflower oil and fresh basil); and Herb Roasted Turkey (USDA ground turkey, turkey heart, and turkey liver prepared with organic sweet potato, yellow squash, peas, blueberries, kale, and yellow bell pepper seasoned with fresh rosemary and thyme).

Good luck trying to get the pup to eat dry food after this!
