South Florida Beer Week is back for its 2016 installment, Saturday, January 23, to Saturday, January 30. 
A celebration of all things local and beery here in South Florida, there is no better opportunity to try new beers, partake in special releases, and learn more about brewing and the origins of the many breweries in Broward and Palm Beach counties. The adage "drink like a local" has never rung truer.

Whether you're a craft-beer lover from way back or have just begun branching out from your mainstay macros and want to learn more, SFBW is for you. Here are some highlights from the lineup of beercentric events the local brewing community has planned for you: 


Saturday, January 23


Delray Bar Crawl
Starting at Coffee District (325 NE Second Ave., Suite 104, Delray Beach) at 11 a.m., stops include Puttin' Around and Beer Trade Co. Of course, beers from all over South Florida will be featured. Visit their Facebook page

Sunday, January 24

The Brew Bus: South Florida Beer Week Brewery Crawl
Climb on the Brew Bus at noon to start at Saltwater Brewery (1701 W. Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach). The stops include Barrel of Monks, Funky Buddha Brewery, Bangin Banjo, and 26 Degrees. Tickets are $25 and includes two free Brew Bus Brewing beers. Visit BrewBusUSA.com.

Monday, January 25

Due South Brewing Beer Dinner
The Blind Monk (410 Evernia St., West Palm Beach) will be featuring a Due South- and Mexican-themed dinner from 7 to 9 p.m. Visit TheBlindMonk.com.

Tattoos & Brews with Funky Buddha at Riverside Market South
Starting at 6 p.m., Riverside Market South (3218 SE Sixth Ave., Fort Lauderdale) will not only be giving [fake] tattoos but will allow guests to try two never-released Funky Buddha beers. There will also be a cornhole tournament and tattoo contest where winners of both get a bottle of Maple Bacon Coffee Porter. Visit TheRiversideMarket.com.

Tuesday, January 26

Due South Spotlight at Tap 42
Tap 42 (5050 Town Center Cir. Suite 247, Boca Raton ) will be featuring beers from Due South such as Imperial Caramel, Cat 5, Mexican Standoff and more. This will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Visit Tap42.com/boca-raton.

Funky Buddha Tap Takeover at Dixie Bar & Grill and The Brass Tap
The Brass Tap (551 N. Federal Highway, Suite 600, Fort Lauderdale) and Dixie Bar & Grill (5101 S. Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach) will both be offering a tap takeover of Funky Buddha. Brass Tap’s is at 4 p.m., while Dixie Bar and Grill starts at 7.

Barrel of Monks Beer and Food Pairing at Riverside Market South
From 6 to 8 p.m., Riverside Market South (3218 SE Sixth Ave., Fort Lauderdale) will offer a three-course pairing of Coffee Saison, Witte, and Tripple from Barrel of Monks. Tickets cost $25. Visit TheRiversideMarket.com.


Journey to the Core with Cigar City, Oskar Blues and Due South

Brewery Representatives from Oskar Blues, Cigar City, and Due South will be spreading their knowledge at Total Wine & More (850 Congress Ave., Boynton Beach) from 6 to 8 p.m. Visit TotalWine.com.


Wednesday January 27

Girl Scout Pairing at Due South Brewing Co.
From 4 to 9 p.m., Due South Brewing Co. (2900 High Ridge Road, Suite 3, Boynton Beach) is offering beers paired with Girl Scout cookies. Proceeds will benefit the local Girl Scout troop and boxes of cookies will be on sale from 4 to 6 p.m. Visit DueSouthBrewing.com.

Due South Takeover at the Mack House
The Mack House (9118 W. State Road 84, Davie) will be featuring Due South Beers as a spotlight. Beers include Hopicana, Cat 5, Mariana Trench, and Mexican Standoff. This is from 7 to 10 p.m. Visit TheMackHouse.com

Funky Buddha Takeover at Salute Market
Salute Market (5530 PGA Blvd., Palm Beach Gardens) will host Funky Buddha’s Brian Torres this night. Offered will be a flight of four beers paired with four bar bits as well as specialty cocktails created with Funky Buddha beer. RSVP and visit Salute2u.com.

Brew Bus Brewing Mini Tap Takeover at Laser Wolf
Starting at 6 p.m., Laser Wolf (901 Progresso Drive, Suite 101, Fort Lauderdale) will feature

Thursday January 28

Brewing Inspirations at Social House

Cigar City Tap Takeover Featuring at Colada Cuban House
Colada Cuban Coffee House and Eatery (525 N Federal Highway, Suite 400, Fort Lauderdale) will host a Cigar City tap takeover. Beers featured include Tocobaga, Marshal Zhukov, and CCB Lager. Visit ColadaHouse.com.

Funky Buddha Tap Takeover Southern Railway Tap House

South Florida Craft Beer Night at Marina 84
