Monday
Service industry night
Are you in the biz? Paladar Latin Kitchen & Rum Bar in Hallandale Beach hosts a service industry night on Mondays kicking off at 9 p.m. The specials include $5 Atlantico Platino Rum cocktails, like mojitos and rum punch, and $3 beers. The deals are good 'til close.
Food truck rally in Hollywood
The weekly food truck rally at Arts Park in downtown Hollywood resumes on Monday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. There's no cost to attend; bring cash for the trucks. This week's lineup includes familiar favorites like B.C. Tacos, Ms. Cheezious, the Rolling Stove, Top Fries, and many more.
Tuesday
"C" is for Cigar City
Gearing up for South Florida Beer Week (it's January 19 - 26)? Get a little practice in at World of Beer Coconut Creek on Tuesday night when they host "C" is For Cigar City. The bar will highlight beers by the Tampa brewery, including, on draft: Tocobaga Red Ale, Roaring Lion Calypso IPA, Kalevipoeg Baltic Porter, Resonator Doppelbock, Neal's Black Saison, Stine's Hoppy Wheat, Marshall Zhukov's Imperial Stout, and Candela Rye Barleywine (a collaboration with Green Flash). They'll also have bottles of Moat Water, Sugar Plum Brown Ale, and White Oak-aged Jai Alai IPA. Many of these are difficult to find and highly-rated brews. Attendees will have a chance to win a Cigar City skate deck by purchasing Cigar City beers.
Winter Series of Beer Tasting Classes
Looking to hone your beer skills? (Yes, you can have skills in beer that go beyond chugging and beer pong.) Bon Beer Voyage leads monthly beer appreciation classes at World of Beer, with the winter series kicking off on Tuesday night. The session is 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the World of Beer Coconut Creek. The class is $20 per session which includes a tasting of six to eight beers in a variety of styles, plus other free goodies. Class size is limited to 30 people. Register online.
Food truck night in Plantation
Plantation's food truck invasion returns this Tuesday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. in Plantation Heritage Park. There's no cost to attend the family-friendly event, but bring cash if you want dinner from the ever-changing lineup of food trucks. This week's lineup includes Big Mike's BBQ, Crazydilla, Flour Power Food Truck, Zombie Ice, and many more.
Note: This event at American Social has been rescheduled to Wednesday, January 16.
Wednesday
Cisco Disco
American Social in Fort Lauderdale is teaming with Cisco Brewers out of Nantucket for a "Cisco Disco" on Wednesday night. Pull on your bell bottoms and head over for an evening of '70s dancing and beer, like Whale's Tale Pale Ale, Indie Pale Ale, and other drafts. They'll also serve beer cocktails using Triple 8 Organic Blueberry Vodka. The action starts at 8 p.m.
Thursday
Tantalizing Tastings
Roberta Sabban hosts a winetasting from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Store Self Storage & Wine Storage in Palm Beach Gardens. This month's theme is Best of Italy. Find more details in the Tantalizing Tastings calendar listing.
Wellington food truck event
The trucks will roll into Wellington for their weekly food truck roundup courtesy of Food Truck Invasion. Dinner is 5:30 to 10 p.m., with a collection of food trucks from throughout Miami, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. The event is at the Wellington Amphitheater, 12150 Forest Hill Blvd.
Todd English cooking class
Lightning rod/celeb chef Todd English will lead a pizza-making class hosted in Macy's at the Gardens Mall in Palm Beach Gardens. A $50 reservation for the class pays for a pizza pan, pizza wheel, $10 Macy's gift card, and a signed copy of Macy's Culinary Council Thanksgiving and Holiday cookbook. The event is 6 p.m. Thursday. RSVP by calling 877-556-2297 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. A reservation is required to attend.
