Hot weather is officially here, South Florida. As the temperature rises, so does our thirst for getting outdoors. And by outdoors, we mean getting our food and drink on at our favorite waterfront restaurant, with a tropical cocktail in hand.

While the end of South Florida's season would appear to halt most restaurant openings, May actually welcomed a number of new establishments across Broward and Palm Beach counties, including the grand opening of Boynton Beach brewery Copperpoint Brewing Co., Calaveras Cantina in Jupiter, and Mellow Mushroom and Colada Cuban Coffee House in Fort Lauderdale.

As for closings, May also had some interesting moves: Darbster in Boca Raton closed its doors; the Keg on 6th changed hands, set to become the second location for Riverside Market; Cabo Flats shuttered its doors in Palm Beach Gardens, only to plan two new locations in Jupiter and West Palm Beach; and Chill Wine Lounge was replaced by Mod Wine Lounge in Fort Lauderdale.
