When an alcohol company prides itself in finding all of its data in late-night R&D sessions that include famous nightlife impresario Rande Gerber (remember South Beach's the Whiskey?) and eternal playboy (well, not anymore), good-time-having, all-around-awesome-human-being George Clooney, you know you're going to end up with something special. When he's not out "brutalizing" himself with Danny DeVito on daylong binges of Limoncello, Clooney also enjoys the relaxing qualities of sipping Reposado tequilas.
Alongside his lifelong friend Gerber and Michael Meldman of the Discovery Land Co., they came to the conclusion that the world would be better if they made their own. And thus Casamigos (a portmanteau of "home" and "friends" in Spanish) was born. A small-batch operation made from 100 percent Blue Weber agave grown in the highlands of Jalisco, Casamigos' fast rise in the world of premium tequilas has come with some serious accolades from reputable sources like the Los Angeles International Spirits Competition, BevX Magazine, and the Miami Herald.
Most notably, Casamigos is the tequila that Oprah likes to get down with. This might explain why the woman gives away so much damned stuff on her show.

Nothing quite says summer like some type of fruity drink, and this summer's fiesta is going down at the Brimstone Woodfire Grill. Casamigos' Blanco and Reposado varieties are good on their own for sipping, and they happen to partner well with fruits to create the boozy flight at this popular eatery without being completely destroyed flavorwise by the citrus. With a boarding pass of $20, the Casamigos Margarita Flight consists of four margaritas. The summery flavors are pineapple mango, blood orange, pomegranate, and the classic margarita.
These beverages boast fresh fruits and fruit purées and are psychologically healthy in intent and fun in execution. Brimstone already offers a pretty good happy hour, the "Power Hour" Mondays through Fridays from 4 to 7 p.m. with two-for-one cocktails and half off all of its appetizers. You might not be some jet-setting, international bon vivant, but if you couple the Power Hour with Casamigos' liquid travel arrangements, you might just end up caterwauling through town with your best friends in tow -- all in the name of "research and development."
