For years now, we've been hoping and praying for Trader Joe's to open in southeast Florida, going so far as to start petitions and promise to rename our cities after the grocery chain that offers both the exotic and everyday in a Tiki setting.

We're certainly getting our wish.

First the company announced plans to open in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and Palm Beach Gardens.

Now, the California-based grocer has just announced plans to open a store in Wellington.

The Wellington Trader Joe's will be located on the Southwest corner of US 441 and Stribling Way in the Village Green Shopping Center.

The store will be approximately 12,500 square feet and will sell beer and wine. Although an exact date is not yet announced, the Wellington location will open sometime in 2014.

The company also announced plans to open additional Trader Joe's in Tampa and Orlando.

Trader Joe's is as much an experience as a trip to the market. "Crew members" dressed in Hawaiian shirts help customers choose from over 3,000 private label items like flat bananas and Trader Ming's fried rice.

The company also has a liberal "try before you buy" policy, which gives "crew members" the ability to open pretty much any item for you to sample before you take it home.
