Palm Beach county has been granted its wish. Trader Joe's is coming to Palm Beach Gardens.

The grocer with a cult-like following will open sometime in 2014 at PGA Plaza, on the corner of PGA Boulevard and Prosperity Farms Road. Construction on the 12,500-square-foot store is slated to begin in the fall of 2013.

The property is owned by Menin Development Inc., who is touting the recent announcement on their website. In an interview with the South Florida Business Journal, Menin's vice president of development Matt Bloomfield said, "I think [Trader Joe's] is very attached to the area. They like that it's near PGA Boulevard and our center has more frontage on the boulevard than any retail center in the area. It's the oldest location and needs the most improvement, so it made economic sense."

For the past year, West Palm Beach has been campaigning for Trader Joe's to open a store, even going so far as to offer to rename West Palm Beach "Trader Joe's." Well, we guess Palm Beach Gardens is close enough.

The first Trader Joe's in southeast Florida will be in Miami-Dade County. A store in tony Pinecrest is scheduled to open in 2013.

Here's a video where West Palm Beach officials tell Trader Joe's what they would trade for Trader Joe's (which include dance shoes, a trolley, a million dollar view, and grandma):
