Forget what Florence and the Machine told you: The 'dog days' are far from over. But Sloan's Ice Cream has come up with a sweet way to improve the situation.

The magical ice cream shop of Broward and Palm Beach counties has recently launched an all new summer kick-off promotion called "Sloan's Dog Days of Summer," which entails an exclusive treat for both you and your pet.

Customers are encouraged to stop by on Tuesdays between 2 and 5 p.m. with their family and their dog. Spend $25 to receive a free pint of ice cream and a free milk bone treat. The promotion only applies to the two West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, and Boca Raton locations through the end of July.

"Florida summers are known for being extremely hot and there is no better way to cool down from the summer heat than a nice scoop of ice cream," says David Wild, owner of Sloan's. "Be sure to bring your dog because we are a very pet-friendly business and we would love to see you in sometime."

Aside from being a pet-friendly establishment, the owners of business are in love with dogs and always look for ways to incorporate pets into different events and promotions held at the stores. In other words, Sloan's has given you a reason to stock up on free ice cream to manage the heat while treating your dog at the same time!

And don't worry about being limited to certain flavors for the promotion. With over 50 flavors to choose from, every flavor is fair game.

Sloan's Ice Cream has six locations in Florida. Visit sloansicecream.com for a complete list of locations.
