So -- Valentine's Day, huh? Whether you're looking to dump someone, you're a cheap date (or you're trying to figure out if your date is being a tightwad), aren't afraid of bad ideas, or you're interested in actually doing something nice with a special someone, there are many directions you can go on Tuesday.
But V-Day isn't the only thing happening this week and weekend. After the jump, find food and drink events in Broward and Palm Beach, including (but not limited to) Valentine's Day.
Tonight:
Food Truck Invasion in Hollywood -- Roughly two dozen food trucks will swarm Arts Park in Young Circle in downtown Hollywood for a food-truck invasion from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Dinner and dessert are available with choices like Bite Gastrotruck, Che Grill, Miso Hungry, Ms. Cheezious, and Sugar Yummy Mama. No cost to enter, but bring cash for the food.
Singles' Mingle at English Tap & Beer Garden -- Alone on V-Day? Don't cry into your beer all by your lonesome. The English Tap & Beer Garden in Boca Raton is hosting a Valentine's Day event geared to singles from 4 to 11 p.m. with happy-hour prices offered for the duration of the evening.
Player Haters Ball -- Is it any surprise that Laser Wolf would host a Valentine's Day event for people who hate the hell out of this prefab holiday? Get your booty down to the hip bar for craft beer, food truck tacos, and hot jams. The party is 9 p.m. to close.
"Cupid's Dead" Anti-Valentine's Day Party -- Couples and singles alike are welcome at the Blind Monk's "Cupid's Dead" party from 4 p.m. to close, but single ladies especially will get the royal treatment with a free glass of rose champagne.
Love in the Park -- This new Valentine's Day event offers an all-in-one date-night package with wine, light bites, and sexy jazz in an outdoor setting. The event is 6 p.m. at Huizenga Plaza in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Tickets cost $125 for two general-admission passes or $175 for two VIP seats.
Thursday:
Opening party -- Josef's Table in Boca Raton opened late last year but will officially celebrate its debut with an "opening mingle" from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets to the event have sold out, but the restaurant does have a waiting list going. Call 561-271-8210 to add your name.
Saturday:
Fat Tuesday Feast demo -- Learn how to make dishes inspired by Louisiana's culture and celebratory nature at a Fat Tuesday-themed cooking demo at 6:30 p.m. at the Boca Raton Publix Apron's Cooking School. Admission is $45. Register online.
Food trucks at Family Fun Day at Lynn University -- Food trucks are scheduled to participate in Family Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Lynn University in Boca Raton. Chef on Wheels, Feverish Ice Cream, Latin Burger, Moty's Grill, Out of Many Cafe, and Veggie Express are slated to appear, but the schedule is subject to change.
Sunday:
Lebanese Festival -- The 11th-annual Lebanese Festival is noon to 5 p.m. and food is one of the highlights, with local vendors offering traditional fare. Takeout is available. The festival is at Maronite Catholic Church, 4891 Lake Worth Road in Greenacres.
