Police are investigating the role an Oakland Park Waffle House played in the fatal shooting of Nicholas Romondo Walker that occurred on I-95.

According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, around 6:40 a.m. Sunday, drivers called 911 to report shots fired on the highway. BSO deputies found a silver Buick that crashed into a guard rail and caught fire, with Walker dead inside the car. According to the Sun-Sentinel, Oakland Park Fire Rescue extinguished the fire.

The Broward Sheriff's Office homicide detectives have identified and questioned two people that were seen having contact with Walker at the Waffle House, located at 4840 Powerline Road, just before the shooting took place. BSO has not released the names of the subjects, but did release their photos. The man and woman are not considered suspects, but BSO feels they may have information about the incident.

The manager at the Waffle House would not comment to Clean Plate Charlie about what might have taken place at the restaurant prior to the shooting. The restaurant is open for business.
