Where to Eat Vegan on Thanksgiving in Broward and Palm Beach Counties

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, but for those who prefer tofurky to the gobbling alternative, it's not as easy to opt into a hearty feast without slaving away in the kitchen yourself.

But there are options, if you plan ahead. Several Broward and Palm Beach eateries are serving yummy holiday feasts, complete with everything from pumpkin "cheesecake" to Gardein "turkey." So you can enjoy a food-induced coma like everyone else, no tryptophan necessary.

Green Bar & Kitchen

The popular plant-based eatery will be serving a full "Thanks-Living" spread with lots of traditional favorites (think all of the good stuff, none of the bad!). The menu will include squash or pumpkin bisque, a meatless loaf or stuffed portobello cap, mac and cheese, sweet potato spread with marshmallow topping, and coconut pumpkin pie. Plus, bottomless Champagne is included, and they'll be offering heavily discounted bottles of wine.

The dinner runs $59 per person (gratuity & additional alcohol not included). The menu is subject to change due to produce availability. There are two seatings, 6:30 and 8:30 p.m., and you can purchase tickets on their website.

Farmer's Table

While their main Thanksgiving meal isn't vegan-friendly, they do have menu options for herbivores that'll be available. These include a vegan vegetable lasagna with spinach and plum tomatoes ($16), a mandarin chopped salad with cabbage, red bell peppers, carrots, broccoli, oranges, candied cashews, and ginger-soy vinaigrette ($12), and kale and carrot salad with sweet onions, red bell peppers, ginger-soy vinaigrette, and sesame seeds ($11).

Darbster

The vegan eatery's (Boca Raton and West Palm locations) are offering a three-course meal with options like roasted butternut and shallot bisque; turkey roulade with shiitake and sage corn-bread stuffing; haricot vert almandine, yukon and rutabaga smash; roasted sweet potato; marshmallow créme anglaise, sweet cranberry, apply chutney, and red wine rosemary demi-glace; and pumpkin pie cheesecake. They also have a raw option for each course.

The dinner runs $29.95 for adults, $19.95 for kids. You can make a reservation by emailing [email protected] or calling 561-586-2262. Both locations are serving from noon to 5 p.m. Oh, and they're dog-friendly!

Sublime

Pau McCartney's favorite cruelty-free café will be offering a full vegan spread including options like Gardein "turkey" with garlic mashed potatoes; roasted acorn squash filled with quinoa stuffing; Waldorf salad with apples, celery, raisins, and walnuts; and pumpkin "cheesecake" with an almond nut crust.

The dinner will be served from 1 to 3 p.m. and runs $39 for adults and $29 for children 12 and under, plus tax and gratuity. You can make reservations online.

Whole Foods

All Whole Foods locales will offer vegan edibles in the prepared foods case, though they recommend ordering in advance to avoid last-minute lines and craziness. They'll be serving the vegan Gardein Holiday Roast stuffed with wild rice, cranberry, and kale; green beans with shallots; harvest roasted root vegetables; roasted Brussel sprouts; traditional herb stuffing (organic and not organic); cranberry orange relish; roasted vegetable gravy and vegan pumpkin pie.

The menu is available now through Thanksgiving. Customers can pre-order in any quantity from their local store or online. The e-store is taking orders now.
