Yesterday's GWWE brought us to the North Broward spot. Even though they've only been serving the South Florida crowd for half a decade, that doesn't mean they aren't good at it. Good enough, in fact, that they won Best Mexican Restaurant in Broward in 2007 in our annual Best of issue.

Last year, General Manager Fernando Alejandre took Charlie behind the line and admitted they didn't know they won the award - even three years after it happened. While they may not be up on their own current events, at least they know how to make authentic Mexican food, without falling in line to the Americanized versions.

Take a moment to clean up on your Spanish, because it's going to be valuable when ordering. No worries, though, if you can't properly say por favor, the menu is also printed in English. But don't say I didn't warn you first!
