No. 43: Gelato Cup from Sonny's Gelato Café

Sonic has capitalized on their catering to cars logic. Some Dairy Queens even have walk-up windows only. Ice cream is a novelty, of course, but what place can you find the sweetest gelato and still drive away with dessert in your hands, without even taking off your seat belt?

Sonny's Gelato Café in Boca doesn't just shell out more than three dozen flavors of gelato, they serve it up in a drive thru. If you aren't in a rush, you can grab a cup of Nutella gelato, sit outside on the plastic furniture, and listen to a middle-aged man sing in Italian and play the accordion. It may sound like nonsense, but really, it's a superb Friday night. Even Sylvester Stallone has been rumored to treat himself to Sonny's when he's in town.

With more than 40 flavors made locally - including Nutella, Maple Walnut and Stracciatella (pictured) - Sonny's not only has the quantity to show off their gelato greatness, but has even had their taste of our Best Of accolades, winning "best gelato" in 2007. Solidifying their rock-solid reputation with years of sticking around east Boca doesn't hurt, either.
