No. 54: Lobster Corn Dogs from Rok: Brgr

While enjoying a bacon-infused bourbon or a frosted mug of micro-brew at Fort Lauderdale's newest burger bar and gastropub, the most difficult task is selecting from the bar bites menu. What nosh pairs best for observing the tomfoolery on Himmarshee Street from the exposed brick bar? The miniature kobe beef hot dogs slathered in homemade chili and sharp cheddar? The cheesy comfort found in the macaroni with gruyere and truffle oil? Wait! Don't tear your visor hat off in frustration just yet.

The tastiest of the all (but only by a smidgen) is where posh meets pedestrian with the lobster corn dogs ($12 for four). Chunks of Florida lobster meat speckled with bits of corn are swaddled with sweet batter then speared with a wooden stick.  Deep fried until crispy and blonde in color, the four fanciful pups arrive on a bed of zesty arugula with a side of spicy honey mustard for dipping. Feel at ease devouring these glorious dogs pinky-finger up.
