April 2016 Restaurant Openings, Closings, and Coming Soon in Broward and Palm Beach

You know what they say: April showers bring May flowers — and here in South Florida, more restaurants too.

The start to spring ushered in more than warming temps; the new season also welcomed a plethora of new bar and restaurant openings. Last month saw the addition of long-awaited establishments like Saxon in Boynton Beach, as well as a few local chains adding second locations including Tucker Duke's Lunchbox in Boca Raton, while Hurricane Bar & Grill launched its new fast-casual concept Hurricane BTW in Fort Lauderdale.

Of course, a few closings didn't go unnoticed. First, Hudson in Delray Beach quietly shuttered its doors earlier this month, leaving a vacant waterfront restaurant space ripe for the taking. Rhino Doughnuts kicked the bucket at its Lauderdale-by-the-Sea location. And Hickory Sticks BBQ bid farewell with the closing of its Plantation location.

And there's still plenty more to come, with anticipated grand openings slated for the coming weeks with places like Banko Cantina and Lost Weekend in West Palm Beach, or Spring Chicken and B-Square Burgers in Fort Lauderdale.
