Rev up your appetite for New Times 4th Annual Pairings, the degustation event of the year. There will be 40-plus restaurants each offering a signature dish, plus wine, beer, or booze paired with each one.

Turns out we need your palate.  This year for the first time, we will be incorporating awards as part of the event. We are lining up a few culinary experts as judges -- and we've been asked to get one Clean Plate Charlie reader on the judging panel as well. As a judge, you'll help decide on the best bites, best pairings, best sweets, and best overall dish.

To win the judging slot (you and a friend will get free entry into the event), in the comments, tell us why you'd made the best judge. Be sure to include your email information so we can contact you in the event you've won.

The event takes place Thursday, September 15 at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

If you don't win the judgeship, you can still buy tickets to Pairings -- they cost $45 online and $55 at the door. Deep pocketed readers can shell out $80 for VIP tickets that allow you in early, before the general admission crowds.

Diners can sample eats from 3030 Ocean, ROK:BRGRYolo, Steak 954, and Bimini Boatyard, among other restaurants.
