The Chick-fil-A frenzy is growing. This fast food restaurant that features cows who spell phonetically, is opening their first free-standing Pembroke Pines location at 12203 Pines Boulevard on Thursday, June 7.

To mark the occasion, Chick-fil-A is giving away a free year's supply of Chick-fil-A to the first 100 adults in line at the grand opening on Thursday.

Chick-fil-A celebrates the opening of all its stores in this fashion, with people camping out in sleeping bags with their eyes on the prize.  Some even wear cow and chicken suits in their zeal to win a year's supply of chicken. Sounds great, no?

Well, depends on how much chicken you actually want to eat in a year.

According to the official rules posted in the Chick-fil-A website, the

"chicken for a year" winners will actually receive 52 certificates for a

free meal at Chick-fil-A -- one for every week in the year -- valued at approximately $250). Personally, we'd eat free chicken every day if we could.

If you think winning $250 in fast food is worth the wait, be prepared to

wait for over 24 hours. The line for free food will officially open at 6

a.m. on Wednesday, June 6 (yes -- one day before the store opens), at which the company already expects at least 100 people to be there by daybreak. If

there are more than 100 people waiting in line on Wednesday, then all

100 spots will be determined by raffle and the raffle winners will have

to stay overnight in order to win.

Don't worry, folks! According to the official contest rules,

"exceptions are made for short bathroom breaks and/or to comply with

any

applicable legal requirement, or otherwise in the sole discretion of

Sponsor." Which means the good people at Chik-fil-A don't want you to

have to resort to adult diapers like some love-crazed astronaut.

Other rules state that you can't bring illegal drugs or alcohol with you

to pass the time away, nor can you bring your pet to keep you company.

In fact, the rules basically state that this is one big publicity stunt:

"The purpose of this promotion is to camp out overnight at the Restaurant and to participate in pre-Grand Opening events."

But, even with all that, we love us some Chick-fil-A and would probably

camp out overnight in a chicken suit if it meant free sandwiches and waffle fries.  Which

poses the question:  Do you think camping out overnight for $250 in

Chick-fil-A coupons is worth the hassle?  Clean Plate Charlie would love

to know.
