The Coral Gables Middle Eastern Festival at The Cathedral of St. George featured food, drink, arts, crafts, and bounce houses. Nothing Middle Eastern about bounce houses, but hey, the kids love 'em. The Cathedral of St. George
has a predominantly Middle Eastern membership, mostly of Lebanese and Syrian descent. This festival serves as community outreach and fundraising. Check out their church. It has great artwork. According to the priest, it was painted by a world-famous icon painter.
They invited me to check out their church any time. I probably won't, but maybe you will. They've got their own kitchen in the building, and if you're lucky, they'll be cooking up some of that Middle Eastern fire.
Keep New Times Broward-Palm Beach Free... Since we started New Times Broward-Palm Beach, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of South Florida, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture.
