Old school - it's the perfect way to describe GG's of New York, the family-style Italian restaurant that has been serving Fort Lauderale for more than 30 years.

Those red and white-checkered plastic tablecloths, fat shakers of hot pepper and parmesan, and family-style fare -- it's everything you want a classic Italian joint to be.

They've got it all -- specialty pizzas (both New York and Sicilian style), seafood, pastas, and traditional dishes like Veal Parmigiana and Chicken Marsala (both $14). There's also a kid-friendly children's menu for those 12 and under.

Our personal favorites: the crispy pizza bread appetizer (served with house marinara and mozzarella cheese for $5) or the side order of piping hot garlic rolls ($2.50 for a half order and $3.50 for dozen). Order them alongside any meal to soak up sauce, or swallow solo. They're quite possibly some of the best around.

And right now we make everything a little bit sweeter with our Deal of the Day. Order today and you'll receive $10 to $20 worth of food and drinks at GG's. Just head to our deal page, click "Buy Now" -- and you're good to go.

We also love GG's Early Bird Dinner menu, which offers special pricing from $19-$25 on two entrees. (Served Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.)

Go if you're craving some good, homestyle cooking...just like grandma used to make. If your grandma is Italian, that is...
