Forget Delray Beach's Garlic Fest. Now that it's come and gone, all we can think of -- and salivate over -- is the city's next food-focused event: the inaugural Bacon & Bourbon Fest.
Three years in the making, the event will celebrate bacon-infused fare and American bourbon for a truly indulgent focus. The event, set to take place in March, will join the ranks as the city's third food-focused theme in addition to the annual Delray Beach Wine & Seafood Festival.

The two-day Delray Beach Bacon & Bourbon Fest will happen March 28 and 29 and features bacon-based fare, pairing dinners, bourbon tastings, and seminars. The event is being organized on the grounds of the Delray Beach Center for the Arts in downtown Delray Beach.Expect to find a wide-ranging menu of bacon and pork dishes, from braised pork belly with tamari, garlic, ginger and chili peppers, to bacon ice cream. The highlight of the weekend: a four-course bacon and bourbon dinner set to take place both days. There will also be a special Sunday Brunch with live music, an eclectic menu of bacon-infused culinary offerings, and a tasting collection of more than 40 bourbons and whiskeys.
The festival will offer participants extensive bacon and bourbon pairing seminars (for an additional fee), including an exclusive Pappy Van Winkle tasting. The distiller's techniques will be explained during a series of seminars and tastings presented by some of South Florida's foremost bourbon experts. All this is intended to enhance your knowledge and pleasure of American-made bourbon and whiskey.
General admission is $25 and will get you access to the event, as well as a $10 voucher towards food and drink. Additional tickets priced from $60 to $200 give you access to various festival experiences including a pork buffet, a bacon-infused Bloody Mary bar, seminars, or the bacon and bourbon dinner.
The Bacon & Bourbon Fest will be held at the Delray Beach Center for the Arts, located at 51 N. Swinton Ave., Delray Beach. For festival updates and free ticket giveaways follow the Instagram account at @baconbourbonfest.
