Dogfish Head Brew Night, the Tastings at Pembroke Gardens, and Other Food Events This Week in South Florida

This week, Clean Plate Charlie continues its countdown to the annual Best Of issue by asking readers to vote for their South Florida favorites, from pizza to bar beer selections to Best Restaurant in Broward County. When you get done voting for your favorites, find a few food and drink happenings this week in Broward and Palm Beach:

The Tastings -- This tasting will raise funds for the Women in Distress Hal Herman Children's Fund. Local restaurants will contribute bites -- Lime Fresh Mexican Grill, Village Tavern, and Sur La Table are some of the participants -- and wine and beer samples will be available. Admission is $10 in advance and $15 at the door. The tasting is 6 to 8 p.m. at the Shops at Pembroke Gardens, 527 SW 145th Terrace, Pembroke Pines.

Dogfish Head Brew Night -- The increasingly successful craft brewer will launch a mini tap takeover from 7 to 9 p.m. at World of Beer on Clematis in West Palm Beach. You'll be able to get popular brews like the 60 and 90 Minute IPAs, plus more rare treats like the 120 Minute IPA and Midas Touch. Small bites will be available.

City Link Boca BeerFest -- This beer festival in Boca Raton will feature more than 100 brews, both domestic and international, with a showing of wines. Food trucks like Ms. Cheezious, Latin Burger, Jefe's Original Fish Tacos, the Rolling Stove, Nacho Mama's Grill, and Aphrodisiac Ice Cream will be on-site. The event is 6 to 11 p.m. in Mizner Park. Admission is $20 for general admission if you order by Thursday or $25 at the gate (cash only). VIP admission is $35 and $40, respectively. Live music.

Oceana Benefit party -- Show your love for the ocean and all of its inhabitants -- many of which are threatened -- at this ultra swanky fundraising event held at 7 p.m. at the W Fort Lauderdale Hotel. Tickets are $150 per person and the evening includes hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, and special entertainment, including live musical performances and guest appearances by the likes of Oceana Ambassador/actor Adrian Grenier and Alexandra Cousteau.

March for Hunger 5K -- The second annual March for Hunger 5K is 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. on the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk, beginning at the Hollywood Beach bandshell. Registration is $25 in advance or $35 the day of, with proceeds going to programs that help to feed the hungry in South Florida.
