Brunch is easily the most anticipated and beloved meal of the weekend. Falling on Saturdays and Sundays between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., the breakfast-lunch combination usually includes hearty plates filled with rich, indulgent dishes like crème brûlée-stuffed French toast, huevos rancheros, and grilled skirt steak tacos, washed down with daytime boozy drinks.

Avid brunchgoers rejoice because this weekend is extra special — Presidents' Day has given us more time to seek out a new breakfast-and-lunch-combo meal around town. These five restaurants will serve their special weekend menus, offering dishes that cover everything from pancakes to sushi. All five brunches offer unlimited mimosas and endless bloody marys for an added price.

The eateries are known to fill up, so make reservations. Brunch is the perfect cure to any case of Monday blues.

5. Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar
1313 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-524-9550, or visit RoccosTacos.com.
Don't expect eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and bagels at Rocco's Tacos' brunch. The downtown Fort Lauderdale eatery offers the weekend meal with a stark Mexican twist. Find burritos, huevos rancheros, and an array of tacos instead. Elect for a platter with a choice of tacos, rice, and a mixed salad ($10.50); or order traditional huevos rancheros ($12), with black beans, meat, and cheese. If you're craving something north of the border, try one of three American-inspired dishes: pumpkin spiced flapjacks ($12), steak and eggs ($16.50), or a Belgian waffle ($12). Pair your plate with bottomless booze for the holiday soiree. Brunch runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

4. City Cellar Wine Bar & Grill
700 S Rosemary Ave., West Palm Beach. Call 561-366-0071, or visit citycellarwpb.com.
Brunch-goers in the West Palm area should spend their President's Day afternoon at City Cellar. The restaurant's dynamic brunch menu offers breads, salumi, pastries, desserts, gelatos, and fresh pastas all made in house daily. Consider starting with the brioche doughnuts ($5) to share. They're topped with ginger-cinnamon sugar and served with jam on the side. As an entree, elect for the Belgian waffle ($12), made with Tahitian vanilla butter, roasted strawberries, whipped creme, and maple syrup. For a filling breakfast-oriented meal, try the Cellar breakfast ($13), which includes house-made breakfast sausage, organic eggs, fresh fruit, potatoes, jam, honey butter, and multigrain toast. For something salty, try the chicken panini, with rosemary focaccia and mushroom conserva; or the blackened mahi-mahi sandwich. Brunch runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

3. Big City Tavern
609 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-727-0307, or visit BigCityLasOlas.com.

Diners in the mood for breakfast or lunch face endless choices as there are more than 20 different breakfast-oriented and lunch-driven plates. Egg-centric dishes ($12.50 to $16.50) include omelettes, benedicts, steak and eggs, and sunny side ups. There's a breakfast pizza ($13.50) too, made with sunny side up eggs, scallions, hollandaise sauce, and housemade pancetta. For a brunch-lunch, choose between Asian chicken wings ($12.50), a spinach and shrimp salad ($18), or a house burger ($12). Brunch runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

For something fancy, try the crème brûlée-stuffed French toast ($14) or the huevos rancheros ($12), made with fried eggs on a tortilla topped with salsa rojo, guacamole, shredded cheese, and sour creme. Under the raw bar, order a dozen oysters or clams, or try the calamari fritti ($13.50). Pair it with grilled fish or skirt steak tacos ($16) for the table to share. Brunch runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
