5. Due South Brewing food trucks
Boynton's Due South Brewing will be closed on Easter Sunday, but before the holiday shut-down, they'll be partying with microbrews and food trucks. From 5 to 10 tonight, BC Tacos will visit with its popular menu of tacos and other treats. On Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m., Ps561 will provide the eats, including vegetarian-friendly hot dogs.
4. Food truck rally in Lake Park
Downtown Lake Park will host a Gourmet Truck Expo rally from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday. More than a dozen food trucks will line up on Park Avenue, with familiar names like Boba Station, Crazydilla, Friar Tucks, On the Slide, VeggieXpress, and more. There's no entry fee to attend, aside from the cost of purchasing food and drink from the trucks.
3. Northwood Village Art & Wine Promenade
Free wine? Good Friday, indeed. The Northwood Village Art & Wine Promenade from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight includes free wine samples from Winehooch, live entertainment, art, and other interactive elements. There's no cost to attend and the event is held in Northwood Village in West Palm Beach.
2. Slow Foods Week
Some could argue that the Slow Food movement reached South Florida at a positively glacial pace. No matter: It's here and there are plenty of ways to get in on the local scene. Slow Foods Glades to Coast is sponsoring a week of Eat Slow - Eat Local events starting Saturday. Events this weekend include the Delray Beach Green Market on Saturday and a meeting of the Rare Fruit and Vegetable Council of Broward County on Sunday. To get involved, check out the Slow Foods Week event schedule.
1. Easter
Whatever your religious affiliation (or lack thereof) may be, Easter Sunday is the time to hit a brunch buffet and gorge on carved ham, rich quiche, and mountains of dessert. Most every hotel restaurant -- plus plenty of restaurants from Singer Island to Hallandale Beach -- will offer up a holiday meal. Check out the New Times' South Florida Easter brunch and dinner guide and make a reservation today.
