1. Street Food Rumble

More than 40 food trucks will roll in and throw down at the Street Food Rumble from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday in the west parking lot of the Seminole Casino in Coconut Creek. Read all about the Street Food Rumble and decide who you'll be hitting up (and rooting for) on Saturday.

2. Las Olas Oktoberfest

Exploring cultural attractions in town this weekend needn't preclude drinking brews with busty ladies. The first-ever Las Olas Oktoberfest is as good an excuse as any to imbibe German beers and platters of salty meats while admiring the wonders of lederhosen and dirndls. The three-day festival is 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday. There's no cost to attend, but you'll of course have to pay for beer and food. Find more details about Las Olas Oktoberfest here. The event is hosted at the Riverside Hotel in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

3. Fall harvest festival

There's a hint of autumn in the air (or at least, close enough to it) and Flamingo Road Nursery is firing up a month of fall harvest activities. The ongoing collection of events kicks off Saturday and Sunday with "Pepperpalooza" and a food truck invasion on Saturday. More than 20 trucks are expected for lunch between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Other activities throughout the weekend include a hot pepper eating contest at 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, hot sauce tasting throughout the weekend, dozens of pepper plants for sale, and other family-friendly exploits.

4. Northwood Village Art & Wine on the Promenade

West Palm Beach's self-proclaimed "historically hip" neighborhood hosts its monthly free art and wine walk from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. Find more details about the Art & Wine on the Promenade here.

5. Russian dinner at Pistache

A vodka and caviar bar are on the menu for Pistache French Bistro's Russian-themed "Back in the USSR" dinner on Saturday night. The restaurant will offer a special three-course themed menu for $39 per person, though the regular menu also will be available. The event is part of Pistache's Tour Du Monde promo exploring the culinary and cultural offerings of various countries.
