Alrighty, locavores! This month's issue of Food & Wine taps our very own Allen Susser, of Chef Allen's in Aventura, for recommendations about where to buy great local foodstuffs in South Florida. Susser fingers Delaware Chicken Farm and Seafood Market in Hollywood for everything gator-ish: ribs, tenderloin and tail. Apparently Susser makes a mean seafood-gator sausage at the restaurant. Maybe Delaware can help me figure out what to do with the four pounds of alligator meat gathering crystals in my freezer. Delaware also sells hormone-free poultry, stone crab, and grouper.

Susser (above, with fruit), who told F&W he trades free meals with his customers for their backyard mangoes, also names Robert is Here in Homestead (of course, this is hardly news for local foodies) and Wild Ocean Seafood Market in Titusville for wild Florida rock shrimp.

Anybody out there with good locavore tips -- meat, produce, dairy, seafood -- post em here!
