Foodstuff

'Tis the season to be steamy. But there's no need to suffer store-bought ice cream to cool down. At Pine Yogurt (9114 State Rd. 84, Davie, 954-474-8966), you can choose from 22 homemade flavors of ice cream, yogurt, and ices ranging from old-fashioned pistachio to newfangled mango. The stuff is so good, Pine supplies area restaurants with its products. And if you scream for ice cream but your doctor screams "lower your cholesterol," don't fret: Owner Ed Silverman caters to the diet-conscious with fat-free and no-sugar-added ice creams and yogurts such as chocolate-vanilla swirl or pralines 'n' cream. After all, 'tis also the season to be slim.
