This time, you're going to have to do a little work to get your free food, but it's going to be worth it. America's Backyard in Fort Lauderdale is offering a free 50 foot Luau themed Buffet this Friday from 4:30 to 9 p.m. The buffet is loaded with coconut chicken, sesame Mahi Mahi, pineapple ham, sweet mashed potatoes, Key Lime pie, and coconut cream pie. The only catch: you have to call ahead or go online to RSVP with some of your friends. To help wash down all that food, America's Backyard also offers 2 for 1 drinks during the buffet. If you don't RSVP, it's just $7 for the buffet, and no cover if you live in Broward or Palm Beach County. What a way to start the weekend.

Keep New Times Broward-Palm Beach Free... Since we started New Times Broward-Palm Beach, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of South Florida, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering South Florida with no paywalls.
