The restaurant will open at 11 a.m. Thursday and will give a free pulled pork "big barbecue" sandwich to the first 100 people at the joint. The store is a locally owned and operated outpost of the Texas-based franchise, which, for now, has very few Florida locations. The 2,000-square-foot, casual, sit-down restaurant is only the second Dickey's restaurant to open in South Florida.

All of the meat served is slow-roasted on premises, and selections include familiar selections like beef brisket, pulled pork, and pork ribs. Among the sides are choices like coleslaw, beans, mac 'n' cheese, and fried okra.

Boca franchise owner Carol Vu has said she chose to go with Dickey's, in part, to address a lack of "Southern barbecue" in South Florida. Will the new restaurant meat those needs? Let us know if you get your hands on one of those freebie sandwiches and what you think of the 'cue.
