While we all use math on an everyday basis, it usually doesn't go further than basic adding and subtracting, as well as figuring how much to tip on that $38 check -- for the record: it's about $7.50.

We rarely need to go back to high school geometry class to figure out the size of a circle (unless, you're some sort of engineer, of course).

Regardless, as rare as these needs may be, we should know that π (or, 3.14159...) is an integral part of the equation.

In case you didn't know, today is pi day, and D'Angelo Pizza ▪ Wine Bar ▪ Tapas is celebrating with deals on pies.

To honor the day of the mathematical constant (today is also 3/14), all D'Angelo locations are offering a special $10 pie for the day.

The Abbruzzese Pizza with thin-sliced new potatoes, wild exotic mushrooms, aged fontina cheese, and wild boar salami.

Owned by highly regarded Italian chef and restaurateur Angelo Elia, D'Angelo Pizza is known for using the same high quality ingredients in authentic home-style Italian fare served in a laid-back and casual environment.

The restaurant has earned numerous New Times' accolades, including Best New Restaurant in Broward County 2010, Best Reason to Eat Your Veggies 2011, and a spot on 100 Favorite Dishes for its Fico Pizze Bianche.

D'Angelo Pizza ▪ Wine Bar ▪ Tapas are located at 4215 North Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale, call 954-561-7300; and 1370 Weston Road in Weston, call 954-306-0037; and another, at 16950 Jog Road at The Shoppes at Addison Place in Delray Beach, call 561-381-0037.
