Mamma Mia's Pizza

The Brooklyn-born owners of Mamma Mia's Pizza opened their first South Florida establishment 30 years ago in Boynton Beach. Today, their newest location -- now the third restaurant in addition to their original restaurant and Mamma Mia's Trattoria in Hypoluxo -- offers a prime location with its waterfront spot on the beach.

The "old school" pizzeria serves salads, calzones and pizza, including a 20-inch family-sized pie, Sicilian style square pan pizza and specialty pizzas like the Tuscany, a sauce-less pizza that includes roasted tomatoes, chicken, artichokes, mozzarella and Romano cheese. Mamma Mia's Pizzeria is located in the Lake Worth Beach Casino Plaza at 10 S Ocean Blvd. Lake Worth. Call 561-588-2322, or visit mammamiaboyntonbeach.com.

Mulligan's Beach House Bar & Grill

Mulligan's in Lake Worth is the fifth location for this Florida family of restaurants, which include locations in fellow beach-side towns like Jensen Beach, Vero Beach and Sebastian. In Lake Worth, the casual waterfront dining room includes both indoor and outdoor seating, with a full bar inside that offers plenty of tropical drinks, martinis, wine and bottled or draft beer.

The menu that covers breakfast, lunch and dinner with a focus on fresh seafood. Try the monster fish fry sandwich or mango salsa topped mahi mahi platter. The restaurant is family-friendly with a kid's menu, and is open seven days a week, 365 days a year. Mulligan's Beach House is located in the Lake Worth Beach Casino Plaza at 10 S Ocean Blvd. in Lake Worth. Call 561-588-4133, visit mulligansrestaurant.net, or like them on Facebook.

Bonus Makeover: Benny's on the Beach

Although it's not new, the pier facelift has helped Benny's on the Beach revamp its image. Known as a glorified concession stand for many years, the restaurant is also known for serving up some of the best breakfast deals in Lake Worth, and the super-casual beachfront eatery continues to be one of the few places locals and tourists alike were free to wander up from the beach in nothing but a bathing suit and flip flops for brunch (served all day every day) lunch and dinner for close to three decades.

The menu is huge, offering new twists on classics like french toast and eggs benedict with the favorite island french toast, here stuffed with fruit-flavored cream cheese and topped with shredded coconut, kiwi and strawberries or the lobster benedict with fresh Maine lobster and a cayenne hollandaise. A long list of appetizers, seafood, sandwiches, salads and burgers make up the rest of the menu, offered daily. Benny's on the Beach is located in the Lake Worth Beach Casino Plaza at 10 S. Ocean Blvd. in Lake Worth. Call 561-582-9001, visit bennysonthebeach.com, or like them on Facebook.
