The critically acclaimed, James Beard award-winning chef Mario Batali -- known for his love of olive oil, Italian cooking and his animated TV personality -- is scheduled to perform a cooking demonstration at the Morkiami Museum and Japanese Gardens on Monday, December 13. Batali long ago grew out of the kitchen and into boardrooms and TV studios; he's now a Food Network regular, a cookbook author, and owner of a restaurant empire.

But this event brings him back to his chefy roots. The evening, organized by the  Publix Apron Cooking School, will feature a cooking demo, a buffet-style tasting, and a book signing. The event runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets cost $95 a pop and there are only 200 tickets available.  Order them online through the Publix Apron Cooking School
