Mark Militello, the prolific restaurateur/chef, may not opening his long-anticipated Cabo Blue restaurant after all.

The restaurant, announced early this year, was to have an upscale Mexican theme. The waterfront location at the Wyndham Deerfield Beach Resort was to also feature a taco cart on the beach to serve snacking sunbathers.

The hotel's website lists only its patio bar and restaurant, without so much as a mention of Cabo Blue. Though the hotel's general manager, Julian Felder, is on a cruise this week, chef Pasquale at the Patio Bar confirmed that Cabo Blue will not be opening. When asked if the restaurant would not happen, he replied "That's correct," though he couldn't state exactly when plans fell through.

Militello's most recent endeavors have been at Trina at the Atlantic Hotel in Fort Lauderdale and the Office in Delray Beach.
