Mellow Mushroom is celebrating four decades of helping people satisfy the munchies with a special one-day price rollback.

On Wednesday, August 20, Mellow Mushroom locations throughout the U.S. will be serving a select menu of items at the same prices they were available for back in 1974.

Special '74-priced items include a small cheese pizza for $2.50, Budweisers for 75 cents, and Coca-Cola soft-drink products for 30 cents.

The offer is valid all day with only a few small catches -- special prices are good for dine-in meals only, and there's a limit of one small cheese pizza per person. More than one beer can be purchased per person, and sodas come with free refills -- even at 30 cents.

Jackie Platt, manager at the Delray Beach Mellow Mushroom, is expecting a lot of people to take advantage of the special pricing, saying, "We've had calls all day long inquiring about Wednesday's promotion."

In addition, Platt reminded us that Mellow Mushroom is also holding a contest to win a free trip for two to Amsterdam -- the home of mellow mushrooms. Just take your picture with the original 1974 Mellow Mushroom standee, located at each restaurant, and post your photo to Instagram, using hashtag #40YRSBAKED. Photos must be uploaded before midnight on August 31, 2014, to be eligible. See mellowmushroom.com for complete rules and details.
